WakeEd Partnership, in collaboration with Wake County Public School System, has awarded just over $50,000 in Teacher Innovation Grants to WCPSS teachers for the 2016-17 school year.
Teachers could apply for up to $1,000 individually or $3,000 for a team to spend or materials and resources in the Arts, STEM, Entrepreneurship, Literacy, and Exceptional Children With Autism.
Teachers and instructional assistants started the application process in February and submitted their applications in late spring. They were notified of their awards in June, just as school was letting out for the summer. Teacher Innovation Grant winners are honored annually at the WakeEd Partnership Stars of Education Gala.
