Dale Jenkins

Through a lifetime of work as a business and civic leader, Dale Jenkins has demonstrated great passion and vision for the state of North Carolina.

Dale Jenkins is the Chief Executive Officer of Curi, the premier provider of products, services, and experiences for physicians and those who support them. From medical malpractice insurance to wealth management to well-being programs, the company – built by doctors for doctors – has been passionately curious about identifying new ways to meet the every-evolving needs of physicians since it was founded as Medical Mutual Insurance Company of North Carolina in 1975.

In 2016, he chaired the N.C. Chamber, where he continues to lead a Vision 2030 group studying the state’s future.

Dale currently serves as Co-Chair for myFutureNC, a state-wide organization uniting education, business, and government leaders in support of shared goals for education in North Carolina. The organization is working to ensure that two million North Carolinians will have a high-quality postsecondary degree or credential by 2030 – compared to an estimated 1.3 million in 2018. Prior to myFutureNC, North Carolina was one of only a few states without a strategic plan encompassing pre-K through postsecondary education.

Prior to joining Medical Mutual as Chief Operating Officer in 1994, Dale spent 16 years with Ernst & Young. He held various positions at Ernst & Young from 1978 to 1987 before becoming partner in October 1987. He is the past Chairman for the University of North Carolina Health Care System and the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and he currently chairs the board of Capital Associated Industries. Dale holds a BS in Accounting from Wake Forest University.

In 2014, Dale received Triangle Business Journal’s Health Care Heroes Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also a recent recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for his extraordinary service to the state of North Carolina.

Dale Jenkins was awarded the Vernon Malone Friend of Education Award in 2019.
