About

Taylor Cordes is a former Wake County Public Schools student and educator with a background in advocating for policy that supports our public school system. Taylor is managing the free school supply store program for teachers, Tools4Schools, as well as supports other programs as needed.

Taylor joined WakeEd Partnership directly from the classroom where she was serving as a long-term substitute at a local elementary school, Wildwood Forest Magnet Elementary School. At Wildwood Forest Elementary School, Taylor served as the primary educator in third and fourth grade classrooms. Prior to serving as a long-term substitute, Taylor served as an Extended Content Standards IV teacher at Athens Drive Magnet High School where she established school-based enterprise programs for students on an adapted curriculum and focused on increasing meaningful inclusion for students with disabilities.

Prior to teaching, Taylor received her Bachelor of Arts in Adapted Curriculum Special Education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In 2022, she graduated from Boston College with a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy and a certification in educational policy development. She was born and raised in Raleigh, NC, where she continues to live with her partner and pet bird.
