Wake County, NC- The Wake County PTA Council, together with WakeEd Partnership (WakeEd) and Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, co-hosted Wake County School Board candidate forums this week, October 4 through 7, 2022.
There are candidate forums for each of Wake County’s 9 School Board districts, moderated by community members including past Wake County PTA presidents. Forums were recorded and are now posted to YouTube for on-demand viewing. Candidates answered three questions submitted by the public.
WakePTA President Teresa Jones states “with all school board seats on the ballot, it is mission-critical for PTA to help advocate for every child by educating voters about our candidates.”
WakeEd is a business-backed nonprofit committed to supporting staff and students in the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) for nearly 40 years. Keith Poston, President of WakeEd says “with a history of advocating for our teacher and students, WakeEd is proud to be offering this venue for stakeholders to hear from the candidates before voting.”
The Raleigh Chamber is a nonprofit, membership-based business association serving the community in Raleigh and the surrounding region. Vice President of Government Affairs Andrew Blackburn states, “we know that education is the cornerstone of a thriving economy in Wake County. We look forward to strengthening awareness through these forums.”
