We hope you’ll join us next Thursday for “Beyond the Bucks: What Matters Most to Teachers” next Thursday, May 28th at 8:00a.m., co-hosted by WakeEd Partnership and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. This year’s program will focus on teacher recruitment, retention, and development and what can be done to improve the teacher experience.
Barnett Berry, CEO of the Center for Teaching Quality, will discuss best practices and lessons learned from around the world that support the teacher experience. He will incorporate live polling of audience members throughout his keynote to address education and business perspectives on recruitment and retention efforts.
Immediately following, Eric Guckian, the senior education advisor to Gov. McCrory, will moderate a panel about state and local efforts to improve the teacher experience and where challenges still exist. Joining us for the panel discussion are:

- Representative Skip Stam, North Carolina General Assembly
- Doug Thilman, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, Wake County Public School System
